What is floating?

The Floatation Tank looks like a large enclosed tub and is designed to block out all external sensory input, such as sight, sound, touch and gravity. The tank contains a saturated epsom salt solution, with the water being 35.5° , the same temperature as your skin, allowing your body  to float weightlessly. After 15, 20 minutes you begin to lose the perception of where your body ends and the water begins which gives the feeling of floating in space.  With virtually zero effects of gravity on joints or muscles it allows your body to completely relax. Clear your mind and enjoy the relaxation experience.

Relaxation 

The Float tank is an amazing tool that can guide the mind and body into a deep and relaxing state. Furthermore floating stimulates the brain to release the body's natural 'feel good' chemicals. Endorphines, serotonin and dopamine are chemicals in the body that help in maintaining a number of things essential to a healthy body and mind.

Research has shown that Floating can rapidly and significantly decrease stress, anxiety and tension within the body and aid in restful and restorative sleep patterns.

Floatation has many benefits to the overall health and well-being of your body. Floating can be used as a tool to aid in the relief of stress, depression and anxiety, deep relaxation, pain reduction and aid in the elimination of addictive habits such as smoking.

Floating aids in the elimination of stress and ones ability to cope with stress by promoting deep relaxation, eliminating fatigue and increasing Dopamine production (the feel good hormone) produced by the brain and in turn lowering cortisol levels. A large body of research shows that stress directly impacts pain levels.

Without the pressure of gravity, your body is able to access a state of deep relaxation along with an expansion of the space between your joints, enabling better blood flow to the body that improves and aids in pain & tension. Theta State

In "Theta State" we can achieve a number of amazing things, This state is the state the brain is in the moment just before we fall asleep, It typically takes years of practice to master through deep meditation. With Floating you can typically reach this state after around 20 minutes. Theta State is used in Hypnosis and during REM sleep.

Theta brain waves can be considered the subconscious, they govern the part of our mind that lies between the conscious and the unconscious and retain memories and feelings. Also direct your beliefs and your behavior. Theta waves are always creative, characterized by feelings of inspiration and very spiritual. It is believed that this mental state allows you to act below the level of the conscious mind.

Pregnancy

Floating is a unique and one of a kind environment that offers a warm, calm and peaceful place for mummas to be to reflect, restore, bond with baby and relax. The stresses of daily life can often feel compounded during pregnancy and on this whirlwind of a journey our bodies can often be challenged both mentally and physically.

Habits and Addictions

The main way that floating can help  tackle addictions is by eliminating all distractions. Whilst floating, The floater can release all thoughts of habits or addictions.

As the floater releases these thoughts, he or she can set their sights instead on positive habits and goals. With this approach, float therapy inspires the addict to engage in deep meditation to reduce his or her dependence on the addiction or habit.

Research has shown that Athletes who Float, in addition to using visualisation techniques, show a measurable Increase in their performance. When your brain goes into Theta State it become more open to influence. 

When Floating, the whole body is free from the effects of Gravity, leaving the muscles to relax and regenerate. Also whilst in the tank you absorb magnesium.

Magnesium is crucial to nerve transmission, muscle contraction, blood coagulation, energy production, nutrient metabolism and bone and cell formation.
